CIBC Capital Markets Promotes Glenn Blundell to FX Buying and selling Managing Director
Long-Term Executive at CIBC Advances to Managing Director of Foreign Exchange Markets
Glenn Blundell, a longtime employee of Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) Capital Markets, one of the country’s “Big 5” banks, has been appointed to the role of Managing Director of International Markets FX.
“I am excited to share that I am starting a new role as Managing Director, International Markets FX Trading at CIBC Capital Markets!” In a post on LinkedIn, Blundell wrote.
CIBC Capital Markets, a Toronto-based company, offers specialised solutions to governments, companies, and institutional clients to facilitate capital access and active investing. At 13 locations around the world, including the US, UK, Luxembourg, China, and Australia, it employs more than 50,000 people.
Beginning in 2003 as Senior Manager of International Network Services for Capital Markets, Blundell has worked for CIBC for 20 years. Before that, he was a Management Consultant at KPMG. He had several senior executive roles in the card products, process engineering, and capital markets risk management domains between 2006 and 2015. Blundell then advanced to the position of Executive Director of FX e-Dealer. In 2018, he was made Head of e-Sales Desks after serving as Head of the Global FX e-Trading Desk for a while.
His years of market experience and knowledge from CIBC Markets will be put to use in this new position as he leads and oversees the International Markets FX Trading business. The appointment comes after a string of recent government nominations to executive positions, including Meron Shani’s role as vice president of finance at Shalom Berkovitz and Andreas Przewloka’s position as senior vice president of finance at eToro.
