As we approach the end of 2022 and halfway through December, the number of executive positions being filled in the fintech, FX, and cryptocurrency sectors is comparable to what it was last week. This week’s overview of government moves allows us to assess the executives who have taken on new responsibilities and tasks.

Mina Samir becomes the Head of MENA Business Development at Windsor Brokers. With the hiring of Mina Samir as the Regional Head of Business Development, Windsor Brokers has bolstered its leading position in the Middle East and North Africa.
Laoura Salveta, who briefly worked at BridgerPay, has joined Crimson Acre as a CMO. Laoura Salveta is the new Chief Marketing Officer at Crimson Acre. Salveta joined BridgerPay in May and departed the payment operations platform provider in October, after working there for six months.
Ella Gumus of OANDA has been hired by Oval Cash as a senior affiliate marketing manager. Ella Gumus is the Senior Affiliate Marketing Manager at Oval Cash. Gumus has spent almost two years in the same role at OANDA before.
Hasan Hamd gets promoted to Director of Institutional Sales at ADSS. Hasan Hamd was promoted to Director of Institutional Sales at ADSS Securities. Abu Dhabi is his home base.
Manuel Barbero has been elevated to the role of Global Head of Acquisition and Media by IG Group. Barbero was previously the Global Head of Media for Performance Marketing at IG Group. On Tuesday, the executive made his promotion public on LinkedIn. In December 2014, Barbero began working at IG Group as the Senior Paid Search Manager. This is his fifth position with the provider of internet trading services. The marketing executive spent more than two years working as an associate manager of paid media services at Covario (now i-Prospect) before joining IG Group. Later, she was promoted to manager of paid media services for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Aris Christoforou, who became the Head of Marketing at Spotware Systems in February of last year, has left the position and parted ways with the business. Less than 11 months after joining the company, he tendered his resignation.
Steen Blaafalk, the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer at Saxo Bank, has declared his retirement after more than four decades of work in the banking and trading industries. Blaafalk has spent the last nine years employed at Saxo. As Chief Financial and Risk Officer, he joined the Danish brokerage. He also serves on the boards of two Saxo Group firms, BG Saxo, located in Milan, and Saxo Bank Switzerland. He is retiring, yet he will still be serving as a director.
