On June 1, European champions Italy will meet Argentina within the ‘Finalissima’

Champions of Europe – Finalissima Argentina, the South American Champions, will play Italy.
The match between South America’s Argentina and Europe’s Italy will take place in London on June 1st of the following year. The two governing bodies, Conmebol and UEFA, have dubbed this new competition “Finalissima”.
Italy defeated England in the Wembley final on penalties earlier in the summer to win the European championship. The star of the show for Italy that evening was goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who currently plays alongside Lionel Messi and Angel Di María at Paris Saint-Germain.
Lionel Messi’s ambition was fulfilled a few hours later. Messi’s first championship with Argentina came from his team’s 1-0 victory over bitter rival Brazil (thanks to a goal from Di María) at the storied Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro.
Champions Argentina and Italy will square off in the “Finalissima” on June 1.
